I got into Iron & Wine, when an amazing cover of Such Great Heights (The Postal Service) was released a while back. The song Flightless Bird, American Mouth off the superb album: The Shepherd's Dog (2007). It definitely has an amazing Beach Boy styled harmony and is reminiscent in my opinion of the classic Brian Wilson falsetto that he used to have.
The political message in the song is amazing. The flightless bird is obviously the American Bald Eagle not being able to fly anymore and American mouth is about U.S. citizens losing their voices.
