Let's not do that

I try to stay apolitical.

I suppose that is my inner journalist, and journalism training speaking.

Looking at the grand picture is nice.

But in this age of uber partisan politics it is hard.

I am proponent of independent thought, and not defining myself by a party. You know all I want is some good waves, and some rays, man.

National security votes in Canada should be a free vote. Also, the fact no Conservative voted no for the expansion of a questionable war is laughable.

Maybe, instead of funding a war that is open ended, and won't do anything, how about put that $580 million into the Canadian Military. You know equipment, and upgrades.

Build up our national defense.

It sucks that a civil war, atrocities are happening in Syria / Iraq. However, it is not Canada's problem. We have never been attacked by ISIS.

All this mission will do is paint a big target on Canada's back.

Yet we have MP's smiling and cheering about a war.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?

Seriously, are they really moronic?

I am not anti-war. WWII was justified as was Korea. Canadian Forces played crucial roles in peacekeeping afterwards until the Afghanistan fiasco.

The problem is when so called leaders preach about freedom, and all that feel good bullshit, and then support despots.

War is a somber affair. When our national security is imperil. That's when we go to war. Not when  some isolated terrorist attacks or actions happen on our soil.

Conservatives are suppose to like things as they are. You'd think they would be champions of no government limitations. It is generally only when it suits them.

The terrorists win when we start becoming a Orwellian State, and we take away freedoms.

Sometimes the ends justify the means, but not all the time.
